"In His great mercy has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ..."
1 Peter 1:3
New Hope Christian Fellowship started when a group of 100 people followed Pastor Jimmy Goudelock not knowing where they were going or with any concrete plans. That group met in Cayce Town Hall and decided they wanted to continue to be church family and they wanted to be a church family that was different than they had experienced. They wanted church to be a place that welcomed all as they were. As that group moved forward and started the healing process, they met in the VFW hall and joined in worship.
Our first communion service was crackers on pizza pans, juice and it was there after we celebrated table fellowship that about 75 of us came up with the name New Hope praying for a new beginning with hope and that our changes would be pleasing to God. We were all broken, but we would continue to be a church family. When we moved to Yellow Rock the dance hall was the first time we officially established ourselves as CBF. During this time we didn't have a full-time pastor, but several couples were going to CBF meetings and seminars learning about beliefs and changes. We believed CBF was trying to offer hope and healing to their community as we were.
Many felt we would never succeed so they moved on to other churches, but here we are still offering New Hope to our community each and every week.
We worship at 10 am on Sunday mornings. Sunday School for adults, youth, and children begins at 9 am. All are welcome! Come as you are!
